About Scotsman

Scotsman has been making ice machines since the 1950s, when the name was first used on the ice makers of an American appliance company. Now headquartered in Vernon Hills, Illinois, and part of Italy's Ali Group, it is one of the best-known ice machine brands in the world. In 1981 Scotsman introduced nugget ice to the foodservice industry, and the soft, chewable ice remains a signature of the brand.

The company says its residential machines are designed, engineered and assembled at its South Carolina plant, and that every unit makes ice before it ships.
